Celebrating 5 Years of Coriander Living Collective!
Starting, building, and owning a business is not necessarily an easy thing! 50% of businesses fail within the first 5 years and so I am GRATEFUL to be celebrating my 5th anniversary! A huge thank you to my clients, friends, family, and colleagues that continue to trust and support me.

BEYOND TALK THERAPY: Is Brainspotting Better Than Talk Therapy?
Talk therapy absolutely can be beneficial and uses our higher thinking brains. Yet as some point, talk therapy is limited because it is not able to access the lower parts of the brain where we hold stress and trauma responses. Talk therapy alone is often not enough to heal human issues.

GeneSight Psychotropic Testing
If you are interested in taking medications to help manage mental health symptoms, have tried medications in the past without positive results, or with negative side effects, doing a GeneSight test may guide you and your provider to the best dosages and medications based on your genes. I have had multiple clients benefit from doing a GeneSight Test.

How Do We Heal?
We all know that if we get a cut, there is a natural healing process that will follow. But what if the injury we have suffered is not physical? What if it is emotional, psychological, or spiritual?

LEARN to Use Self-Brainspotting to Self-Regulate WORKSHOP!
BRAINSPOTTING is typically done with a brainspotting therapist, but SELF-SPOTTING is a simple and effective mindfulness-based practice that leads to self-regulation that can be done alone. After 10-15 minutes of self-spotting many people experience noticeable shifts.

17+ Things You Can Brainspot!
With Brainspotting, you can literally target anything where there is a felt sense in the body around the target issue or hope, even numbness or dissociation because they are sensations. If you are curious if BRAINSPOTTING might be something for you to try, please reach out for a free consultation. Cori Hildebrandt, MA, LPC WI, LPCC MN, Certified Brainspotting Therapist is taking new clients ages 13+ in MN/WI for telehealth.

SUICIDE SERIES 4: BRAINSPOTTING, EMDR, & SUICIDALITY
When treating clients with suicidality presence and co-regulation are paramount, normalizing and educating about suicidality are helpful since 20% of the general population has suicidal thoughts in any given year, a referral for medication management might be supportive, creating a crisis response plan to be used as tool, and EMDR or BRAINSPOTTING treatment to work on remapping neutral networks for more adaptive outcomes.

Gazespotting Demo!
In Brainspotting, we will often either use a pointer to identify a brainspot or will find a gazespot off in space. Here is a demonstration of Cori finding a gazespot and processing for a few minutes. You can notice micro-reflexive movements as her system works to regulate.

What’s Better EMDR or BRAINSPOTTING?
Both EMDR and Brainspotting (BSP) are comprehensive brain-body based psychotherapy interventions that treat a variety of symptoms such as trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. I am honored to be able to offer both of these psychotherapy treatments to my clients. I often have clients ask about which one would be better for them and we talk about their symptoms, their therapy goals, and the differences between BSP and EMDR.

Happy 4th Anniversary to Coriander Living Collective!
Happy 4th Anniversary to Coriander Living Collective (CLC)! It has proven to be another interesting year in honoring limits, learning to flow with rather than resist change, and practicing patience for the next right thing to manifest. To our clients, friends, family, and colleagues, thank you for your continued support and trust.

Bibliotherapy: Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement by Kevin M. Gilmartin
The last few years have been challenging for law enforcement agencies and officers (LEOs) across our country. LEOs deal with the “maddest, baddest, and saddest” constituents in society. LEOs have a high stress, high stakes job. They are trained and prepared for survival on the streets, but are given little if any training on emotional survival in this high risk role. The current national rates of suicide for LEOs are 2x that of the general population. In his book, Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement: A Guide for Officers and Their Families, police psychologist, Kevin M. Gilmartin states we need to “stop breaking cops.” His book encourages LEOs and their families to make self-directed decisions on how life can function and strategy implementation to insure emotional survival.

Psychotherapy & Support for Law Enforcement, First Responders, & Military Personnel & Families
As I reflect back, it is not surprising to me that I have a history of studying and working within and around the criminal justice system in different capacities. I am called to pursue new avenues and ways of supporting local law enforcement and first responders! This is a population that I believe deeply deserves and needs additional support. If you or a loved one is connected to these populations just reach out! Coriander Living Collective is open to individual teenage and adult clients for individual talk and trauma therapy, training, consultation, supervision, and other creative offerings of support!

Counseling vs. Psychotherapy?
Most clients and people in the field, use the terms counseling and psychotherapy interchangeably, but there is a difference between the two practices. What is the difference? Which is the best option for you?

Do You Have One of These Gadgets?
If you are needing tools and ways to regulate your nervous system. A Sensate might be for you!
